Just a couple of thumbnails with Whisper and Nikkita being cute together. The first image is Nikki trying to ride Whisper for the first time. I think I've mentioned this before, but, being a giant snake creature, most animals tend to freak out near Nikki. Which has resulted in her being nervous around animals herself. Luckily, Whisper is a sweetheart. The bottom one is Nikki using brail to read to Whisper.

The Dome- building sketch
Hey guys, just a little sketch today before I head off to, well, another camping trip.
I know my handwriting is atrocious so let me give you a quick summary. This is the Dome. It's a (mostly) underwater building that meant to be a sanctuary and a dooms day shelter. It may not look it, but those long poles are strong. It's attached to the bottom of the crevice of the deep sea by site B, also known as the Anchor.
Much like an iceberg, people usually only see the island above water, not expecting the enchanted world below.

Shark Week Aint Over till I Say It's Over
(site update at very bottom)
I'll be honest with you guys. I fucking love sharks. And it just so happens that in June (you know, the month before Mermaid May and July Shark week) I was drawing some lovely shark mermaids... uh, shark-maids? Whatever. So enjoy. These gals were originally going to be part of my art walk series, so you'll be seeing more them them soon (except for the rest of this week cause I'm going camping. Full update at the bottom)
Some of the designs have changed since then, but you'll have to wait for next week for those!
Happy Shark Week!
Hi guys! I'm back! Remember how i said I needed a few days off and it turned out to be a month?! Boy, wasn't that swell?
Okay serious update, my depression has been spiking up and down like a roller coaster. But things seem to be... somewhat stable? At the moment?
So I'm going to start posting stuff. How often, I have no idea. I work at a party store and Halloween is the most insane time of the year. But here's my plan at the moment.
Slug At Work-- There's about 8 or so pages left in the first chapter. So hopefully I can get all of those done before the one year anniversary in October?
Reviews- Since I've been watching so many shark week videos, I'm going to do a v-log type review about the shows and what was the coolest stuff. After that, I have 2 Moana theory videos I want to put out.
Games-really want to get my footage of Night In the Woods up because I just had so much fun with that game. I'm thinking because I don't post letsplays often, I'm going to keep going with the large chunks of videos instead of 20 minute long segments.
However, since we are now in August, my "Year of Blackwell" plan has taken a nose dive. So instead of a year of Blackwell games, I'm just going to keep playing at my own pace, and maybe a couple other Wadjet Eye games, with the goal of putting out those letsplays before their next game, Unavowed, comes out (any Wadjet Eye game that takes place in New York tends to be a connected universe and I have theories about Unavowed that i currently can't share without spoiling Blackwell)
Everything else, from a patreon to livestreams, those, well, I'm flying by the seat of my pants, people. No solid plans for anything else right now.
So I'll see you guys next week after my camping trip.

I'M GOING TO BE AT THE ART WALK!! And sketches!
Earlier this week I showed you guys this picture from a secret project.
I am pleased to announce that that secret project is THE EDMONTON ART WALK.
Every year, Edmonton's Whyte Avenue becomes art central, with artists selling and making art all down the street! And this year, I'm gonna be one of them.
So what does this mean for updates?
I'm still getting use to my work hours, but with me working on stuff for the Artwalk, you should be seeing regular art updates. Now, both of these projects are going to take up a lot of time. Heck, just getting a few things worked out in the last two weeks was so insane, I couldn't work on fixing Slug At Work.
But I won't be selling comics at the Artwalk, which means I'm definitely going to attempt to make comics at the same time so I don't get withdrawal or something! I don't know how, and I'm going to be extremely busy, but I'll do what I can to make it work!
Basically, updates are irregular from now till the ArtWalk
Oh yeah, I promised sketches for you guys, right?
Well, I'll be honestly, these aren't the greatest sketches, because I was drawing super light and running out of pages,(i have now turn the book upside down and drawing on the back pages) but heres a few rough sketches for now

And the one nice sketch!
So you can see a bit of a theme going on. Sharks and Slugs. That's still not final, I've got mermaids and betta fish paintings on the way too and possibly some other things.
That's all for now guys
Wish me luck. Cause its going to be and interesting two months!

Mantis Gown Color Tests
Hey guys, the speed draw might be canceled for tomorrow but I do have a preview. Here's some color tests of Mantis' gown. And believe it or not, even the most goofy looking designs have reasons behind them. Can you figure out which ones are based on REAL praying mantis'?
1. Gold Flakes-- This was just a warm up, using the same color design as Mantis' usual armor. But then I had fun with with the spatter brush, making Mantis look like she was covered in gold sparkles
2. Ruby and Rouge-- If you haven't noticed yet, Mantis loves her pinks and purples, so I went with a darker set of pinks. No secret inspiration for this one.
3. Orchid Mantis-- THIS one is my favorite color scheme, because it's based on the design of the Orchid Praying Mantis, the animal Mantis' more newer design is based from! This type of mantis looks just like an orchid, giving it perfect camouflage for hunting and hiding. It also look freaking beautiful
4. Young Orchid Mantis-- You know what I learned about the Orchid Mantis while looking for reference? That it starts off brown and orange before it molts into a pretty and pink adult
5. Testing 1, 2, 3-- Okay, this one is really just a mess. Testing out strips, shading, and even a slight skin tone change and hair change.
6 Devil's Flower-- Here's another one based on a real animal - The Devil's Flower Mantis. This bug has a lot of different version of the species, but i went with this color combination http://imgur.com/a/up6hh
7- Green is Good-- This one is just a test in green shades, since it use to be Mantis's main color.
8- Jeweled Praying Mantis-- I SWEAR there is a real mantis with this color scheme. It's called the Jeweled Praying Mantis. And you can see it right here if you don't believe me: http://2ngaw.com/jeweled-flower-mantis-cutest-insect/
9- Golden Oldie-- Another goofy one, based on Mantis' old look before her redesign.
Check back soon to see what the final design will be!

Monster Warlord-- She came to me in a dream
I had this quick sketch poking around so I thought I'd post her. If it seems a little directionless, it's probably because this gal is from a dream i had. And the only things I definitely remember from said dream are the not-samurai helmet, the staff, and the notes on the side.
I also think this dream had something to do with me marathoning Star vs the Forces of Evil. Just a hunch.

Quarter Horse Sketches
So the other day, I had 3 hours to kill between interviews. So I sat down in a Tim Hortons and using my brand new touch screen phone, I started sketching horses. Specifically, American Quarter Horses for one of my comic ideas "Snakeskin Boots"
I will be the first one to admit that I am not the greatest at drawing 4 footed animals. Never had much interest in it as a kid either, other then cats. But like so many other things in "Snakeskin Boots", I'm forcing myself to draw a lot of things that challenge me.
So who is this horse? Well, for now lets just call him "The Horse With No Name" ;)
And the biggest challenge with drawing this horse, is not just the proportions or the movement, but keeping it as far away from most animated movie trends where they make the eyes look human. Horses do show emotion with their eyes, but most animations tend to ignore the coloring and the long thin pupil.
Also, none of the images I referenced belonged to me. Sadly, I forgot to bookmark most of them. But I can say that a few of the last ones came from naturalhorses.deviantart.com
And if you want to support me, you can donate right here: https://ko-fi.com/A141IJA

Older Art part 1- Zanni Drago Dragons
Hey guys! Things have been a little slow on the sites while I've been busy with non art things. But as I've been going through the art on my computer, I found some art from my school days that I still really like. So I figured, why not post it? Up first is the dragons from an old story concept called Zanni Drago

Witchsona- BlottyInk
For halloween-- My witchsona! I imagine Blotty being an Ink witch, with giant nerd glasses and stains of ink and paint all over her clothes. And a dirty, ink covered moped, hehe
There's also another picture of her with a slightly different outfit in my big character crowd scene from "We Are Open"

Lira of the Scorpions
So... honestly there's not much I can say without spoilers. All I can really say is that this girl has been through hell and back, but she has small friends that are willing to help her.
Not completely happy with the proportions. But as a concept image, I like it. Lira is a character that I find hard to draw as a child because she's very adult... and has very thick eyebrows.
When I get to writing her story, I'll probably draw it again, but with actual reference. And context.

The Ink Tests
I didn't participate in Inktober this year, but I did decide to test on some new pens on some old drawings. Including some drawings from halloween last year, some character designs and fanart for Steven Universe and Stardew Valley!

Couple Random Character Designs
Some random character designs
This one started out as a test for some new pencil crayons and grew into... this. Let's just call them Nib and Wig for now.
...I'm pretty sure this character was from a dream I had. Something about her being an Earth Spirit given human form so she could bring balance to the planet or something? Hmm.
A vampire design. Love Nosferatu styled monsters
And this... well, I CAN say that it's a poster design for a story. One that takes place in the same universe as Snake Skin Boots, only in a different era. Also did a bit of ink testing here.

Mantis and Torg- Yin and Yang
Whew, finally finished. I showed you guys the WIP for this weeks ago, and as you can see. I changed the poses of the characters a lot. And some of you may noticed that Mantis has gone through a SIGNIFICANT color redesign!

Week Of Sketches Day 6: Marx Brothers
Just a small little diddy. Before I start work on something big, I do little warm ups. The "4 icon challenge" is my favorite since I love symbols.
I am a huge Marx Bros fan, and I'm APPALLED! APPALLED I SAY, that so many people in my own generation have no idea who the Marx Bros are, let alone know of the Groucho Glasses. What is this country coming too!
All of you! Get yourself educated! And then look up Lydia the Tattoo Lady! And once you do that, go see the Muppets version! And then when you do that.... I don't know, it's youtube, watch some kittens.
Bubye!

Week of Sketches Day 3: Torg and Mantis warm ups
These are a lot more recent. When I'm getting ready to draw, I tend to do a few quick warm ups in my tiny little sketch book to get me in the the heads of my characters. Most of these are very fast and gestural
Seeya,
Tegan Dumpleton aka The SlugLady!
Torg is very strong. And kinda nervous.
So something has come to my attention. In the left picture, it looks like Torg is putting a gun to his head. Don't worry, he's not! He's grabbing Mantis' hand because she's trying to put her arm around him. Sorry for the confusion.
Poor Torg. All he wants to do is help people and he's stuck dealing with a maniac.
Seeya,

Week of Sketches Day 1: Lady of The Lake
Simple character design. This one is from... wow, it's gotta be over a year ago. Haven't decided if I'm going to do a clean verson yet. Enjoy!
Bu-bye!
