WE ARE OPEN!

So here we are. After being away for ages, I have returned. Hopefully for a long time.

As I said above, I won't go into why I've been away. Not yet. I'll be using it as examples when I talk about important issues in the future.

Now on to the important stuff! Links! Here are the links to all my new various pages and social media sites

SlugLady's Sketch-Log, Tumblr, DeviantArt, Youtube, Facebook, Twitter.

More links will appear as I polish up the sites and finalize some updates. But until then,

LETS DO THIS!

Sanctuary:WON character busts

Hey guys! Here are some quick sketches of more characters from Sanctuary: World of Nomands. It's been nice to revisit the story. It's so old so... it definitely needs a rewrite.

What I can tell you is that Sanctuary is an anthology of different stories, all revolving the characters of Sanctuary, a planet filled with lost refugees from other planets, brought to Sanctuary through mysterious portals. The each anthology changes from romantic to horror to fantasy, etc, but the overall story is more of an adventure fantasy.

This was a nice trip down memory lane, but I think it might be some time before I show anymore Sanctuary. All be posting a few other updates and sketches today, AND finally show some of the new site updates.

Unreal Bestiary is already up, and I'll have a few other pages up today. Hopefully, this will make it easier to move around the site. No graphical changes yet, though.

Pamela Kit

Hello everyone! Here's today's update, with something for Sanctuary: World of Nomads!

Sanctuary is one of the first stories I started writing when I decided to get into comics. Unfortunately, as I mentioned in an earlier post, that means that pretty much means that the bulk of the drawings and writings are from when I was a novice and are... very very bad. And then I started working on other projects in college and Sanctuary got sidelined. And it's a much longer story, so M.E.H. and Galactic Adventures have been taking precedence.

But lately I find myself revisiting the planet of Sanctuary. So here's a sketch of a character I've been meaning to show you guys for a while.

This is Pamela Kit. The main protagonist of Sanctuary. She's a reporter and photographer for the Summer Night Post. You want a photo or some juicy bit of news? She's your girl. Only thing keeping her from making more money and fame then she is, is her reluctance for "propaganda and bull" as she calls it. And her, uh... charming personality. She's also one of the few humans on Sanctuary and has grown up on the planet the majority of her life.

Now, if you know S:WON from my DA page, you probably already know about Pam...

This is what's known in the industry as "kicking your own ass"

This is also why I drew her in a more static pose. This is a classic pose for Pam, it's how I first drew her all those years ago, so the image has been stuck with me ever since. I'm really happy with how she turned out, considering how longs it's been. I've given her a bit more muscle on her bones then just making her straight up lanky. And it was great to draw her "worm hat" again, as my friends have dubbed it.

Next time, I'll be posting more Sanctuary characters, and some hopefully some more of Pam! And hopefully some color too...

HATE

And here is a MAIN Sanctuary character: "HATE", which stands for "01001000 01000001 01010100 01000101"... No, really.

Unfortunately, I can't really reveal much about HATE, other then he is obviously not a nice robot and if you see him, running is pretty much useless...

Blim and April

Well! These two look familiar!

Charater Designs of Blim and April, two characters from one of the series I'm working on, Sanctuary: World Of Nomads.

And this should probably be a good time to tell you that they are NOT the main characters.

In fact, at the moment, they don't show up that much at all. S:WON, is an anthology of different stories, all taking place on the same planet, with a plot slowly weaving into the main focus of the story. As I was working through school, I used a few assignments to work on some the different stories. Will you be seeing the others I did soon? Uh, No. Sorry. They are all extremely old (think "highschool and start of college" old) and I'd rather not put them up here in their current state. You can check out a few older sketches I'm not planning on posting here at my DA page

The White Ash Forest

Okay, this technically isn't a new. It's a small excerpt from a chapter of Sanctuary: World of Nomads.  Blip and April, two children from Sanctuary, enter the White Ash Forest, in search of the witch who lives in it's center. Done with pencil crayon, white paint and photoshop.

Now, you may have noticed that I have a.... lot of story ideas. Some are half written, others have characters all drawned out and others have a few comic pages laid out. Mostly because, over the last 5 years of school, I wanted to try as many new things as I could. Different genres, ratings, character types etc. I would be working hard on one story, and then step away from it so I could try a new genre or character design for an assignment. And then return to an older idea with fresh eyes. On the one hand, it gave me a lot of new experience and great characters that I love so much! On the other hand...

I have at least 20 different ideas now... all different lengths, genres, formats, ratings and completion rates.

But out of all those idea, S: WON is probably the one I've worked longest on because it's such a long story and i started working on it when i had near to no experience in writing. I stepped away from it for the last couple of years, but it pops back up when I had an assignment that really fit the something from the story.

Now that I'm out of school, I can start working on some final drafts. Can't say which one I'll be working first. I'll probably bounce between a few, but I do want to focus on the shorter ones first, and work on the longer ones on the side. Soon, Sanctuary. Soon.

Crowd Scene

From "Sanctuary: World of Nomads", one of the series I'm currently working on. Hand inked and colored with marker, and edited on photoshop. All the characters and products here are my creation... except one. Can you spot him?
